Jam Camp Campers spend five days improvising, creating and recording songs with energetic and supportive musicians dedicated to unleashing their positive creative potential. This program nurtures self-confidence in children and youth as they learn to express themselves musically. The camp is facilitated by some of Vancouver's most promising musicians, dedicated to sharing the love of music with the next generation of Jammers! Workshops include voice, instruments and rhythm (with a fantastic collection of drums). Daily Cultural Workshops will introduce different musical cultures including Flamenco, African, Bluegrass, Indian, and 'Classical' music. There will be small-group and 1-on-1 workshops in a beautiful setting on the edge of Jericho Park. Instruction for specific instruments, voice techniques, and harmony will give participants the opportunity to develop their skills and love of music. What sets this camp apart from all others is it's commitment to the thrill of improvising and jamming for all levels of musical ability. Facilitators will bring out the best of young musicians so they not only explore and learn but have a blast while they do.
